William H. Barnes joined third-party hedge fund marketer Agecroft Partners as managing director and head of public pension fund marketing.
The position is new. In a news release, Donald A. Steinbrugge, managing partner at Agecroft Partners, said that Mr. Barnes has “worked closely with some of the largest retirement systems” in the U.S. during a 20-year career as a specialist marketer to pension funds.
Mr. Barnes most recently was a senior vice president of institutional marketing to public pension plans at Neuberger Berman Group. Alexander Samuelson, a Neuberger Berman spokesman, did not return a call seeking information about Mr. Barnes' replacement.
