Oliver Dobbs joined specialist fixed-income hedge fund manager BlueCrest Capital Management as a portfolio manager, trading convertible bonds, according to a filing published Friday by the U.K.'s Companies House.
Ed Orlebar, a BlueCrest spokesman, did not respond to an e-mail seeking more information about Mr. Dobbs' new role at the London-based firm.
Mr. Dobbs managed the convertible bond strategy team at CQS (U.K.), where he was a portfolio manager. His duties have been assumed by portfolio managers Alexander Schoenenberger, who heads the firm's convertible arbitrage hedge fund strategy and its European convertible bond team, and James Peattie, who manages CQS' long-only convertible bond investment group, said Michael Rummel, a CQS spokesman, in an interview.
BlueCrest manages $34 billion in hedge funds. CQS manages $11.5 billion, predominantly in hedge funds.
