Maria Dwyer was named chief risk officer at State Street Global Advisors.
She replaces Jacques Longerstaey, who left SSgA in September, said Alicia Curran Sweeney, spokeswoman. Fredrik Gjerstad, senior vice president and global head of investment risk, had been interim chief risk officer.
Mr. Longerstaey is now chief of investments at F-Squared Investments.
Ms. Dwyer will report to Andrew Kuritzkes, executive vice president and chief risk officer at parent State Street Corp., and to Scott Powers, CEO of SSgA, Ms. Curran Sweeney said.
Ms. Dwyer was chief regulatory officer at MFS Investment Management. She left MFS in late 2011 to help oversee the integration of Canadian money manager McLean Budden into MFS for parent Sun Life Financial and departed in May 2012 after the integration was completed, said John F. Reilly, spokesman. Timothy Fagan, chief compliance officer, took over the chief regulatory officer duties at the start of 2012.
