Ki Myung (Kim) Hong left Pacific Investment Management Co. in Hong Kong, where he served as managing director and head of PIMCO’s Asia-Pacific business, confirmed spokesman Jaime Leung.
Mr. Leung offered no further details of the circumstances surrounding the departure of Mr. Hong, who joined PIMCO in July 2010 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong, where he was regional vice chairman and president of Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Hong couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
In an e-mail, Mr. Leung said Douglas Hodge, PIMCO’s chief operating officer who previously served as the firm’s head of Asia-Pacific, would assume “direct management responsibility” for PIMCO’s Asia-Pacific business on an interim basis.
