Sean Kurian was named executive director and lead structuring specialist for liability-driven investment in the asset/liability solutions group at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, according to spokeswoman Charlotte Powell.
The position is new; Mr. Kurian will be based in the group's Columbus, Ohio, headquarters. He will report to Owais Rana, executive director and head of the asset/liability solutions group.
Mr. Kurian was director and head of structured solutions for the Americas at Towers Watson. Ed Emerman, Towers Watson spokesman, said the firm currently is not planning to replace Mr. Kurian and his duties will be handled by other staff members.
J.P. Morgan's Columbus-based asset/liability solutions group had $222 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31, Ms. Powell said.
