Thomas Williams, executive director of the $6.5 billion Wyoming Retirement System, Cheyenne, will leave the retirement system later this year, Mr. Williams confirmed in a telephone interview.
The pension fund is searching for his replacement, assisted by EFL Associates. The job posting is available at the website of the National Association of State Retirement Administrators.
Mr. Williams will remain with the pension fund until the end of August — at the request of the board — to stay through the next legislative session, as well as to assist in the transition to a new executive director.
Mr. Williams, who has been executive director since August 2008, said he felt the time was right for a new challenge now that the pension fund is “positioned well for the future.”
