New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association, Santa Fe, plans to launch an RFP for a general investment consultant on Feb. 19, following the resignation of R.V. Kuhns & Associates, confirmed Joelle B. Mevi, chief investment officer of the $12.8 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
R.V. Kuhns' resignation is effective March 4. The board, at a special meeting Tuesday, hired Cliffwater on an interim basis as general investment consultant. Cliffwater is the pension fund's alternative investment consultant.
The reason for R.V. Kuhns' resignation could not be learned by press time.
“PERA appreciates the service of R.V. Kuhns over the past seven years,” Ms. Mevi said in a written statement.
Allison Grebe Lee, director of business development at R.V. Kuhns, declined to provide an explanation for the consulting firm’s resignation from the account.
“We wish the board and staff … the best and are honored to have served them over the past six years,” Ms. Lee said in an e-mail.
