Peter Harrison was named global head of equities at Schroder Investment Management, confirmed spokeswoman Estelle Bibby.
Mr. Harrison replaces Ken Lambden, who is leaving the firm March 15. Ms. Bibby said she is not aware of Mr. Lambden's plans and that he was not being made available for an interview.
Mr. Harrison will report to CEO Michael Dobson.
Mr. Harrison was previously CEO at hedge fund manager RWC Partners; he will remain non-executive chairman and a significant shareholder in the business, according to a news release from RWC Partners. Schroders acquired 49% of RWC in June 2010.
Mr. Harrison will be replaced as CEO by Dan Mannix, head of business development, at the end of February. As part of the transition, Paul Larche was named chief operating officer, a new position, and James Tollemache was named head of sales at RWC. Information on their previous positions could not be learned by press time.
Mr. Mannix did not return a telephone call by press time for additional information on the transition.
