Henderson Global Investors hired a U.S. credit team led by Kevin Loome, head of credit, U.S., confirmed spokesman Richard Acworth.
It is the first U.S. credit team for Henderson, which is expanding its global fixed-income platform, Mr. Acworth said. The other members of the team joining Henderson are Charles Devereux, as head analyst; Devon Everhart and Douglas Zinser, senior analysts; Matthew Fanandakis, analyst; and Gregg Gola, trader/analyst.
The credit team was hired from Delaware Investments. Delaware spokeswoman Marlene Petter said Delaware has a 79-member fixed-income team, and the “transition was seamless as other team members picked up the responsibilities of those who left the firm” and that Delaware will continue to look for talent to add to the team.
The team is based in Philadelphia and will contribute to Henderson's multiasset and total-return bond strategies as well as helping to develop a U.S. high-yield mutual fund Henderson wants to launch at the end of the first quarter or early in the second quarter, Mr. Acworth said in a telephone interview.
Mr. Loome will report to Stephen Thariyan, global head of credit.
Henderson has £65 billion (US$102.5 billion) in assets under management, including £17 billion in fixed income.
