Dell Inc., Round Rock, Texas, hired Fidelity Investments as the record keeper for its $3.4 billion 401(k) plan, Jess Blackburn, a spokesman for Dell, confirmed on Friday.
The previous record keeper was Aon Hewitt, which continues to provide benefits administration for Dell, Mr. Blackburn said in an e-mail. He provided no additional information, adding that “we consider our relationships with vendors to be confidential.”
Fidelity, in a news release issued Friday, reported that it had won the contract for the 401(k) plan. The contract took effect Jan. 8. Chuck Kabat, a Fidelity spokesman, declined to provide any other information.
