Westfield (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System hired RBC Global Asset Management and Lazard Asset Management to run $10 million each in active core EAFE equity, confirmed Raymond Depelteau, chief investment officer.
Wellington Management and MFS Investment Management were also finalists.
Funding comes from State Street Global Advisors, which managed an MSCI EAFE index fund and an MSCI Emerging Markets index fund, both of which were liquidated to fund the hires.
The $150 million pension fund issued an RFP in August for managers to run a combined $30 million in active international small-cap, international core and emerging markets equity because of a shift in its international equity portfolio to active management from passive.
