Honeywell International Inc., Morris Township, N.J., contributed $260 million to its defined benefit plan during the fourth quarter of 2012, bringing the full-year contribution to $1.04 billion, according to the company's fourth-quarter earnings news release issued Friday.
Those contributions were 4.4% and 40.6% lower than fourth-quarter and annual contributions, respectively, in 2011. Honeywell's fourth-quarter 2011 pension contribution was $272 million and the full-year 2011 contribution was $1.75 billion, according to the release.
The company did not make pension contribution predictions for 2013, Robert Ferris, a company spokesman, said in a telephone interview.
