Paul Waller was named partner in the London office at Hamilton Lane, confirmed Chief Investment Officer Erik Hirsch.
It is a new position. Mr. Waller will focus on client development and overall firm marketing initiatives. He will start in early February and report to senior management. Mr. Waller will continue to hold various board seats and other advisory roles while working in a part-time capacity for Hamilton Lane.
“Hamilton Lane had been looking at opportunities to engage senior advisers who would fit within the culture, remain aligned with the firm's equity philosophy, and would add real value in expanding the market presence and relationships,” said Mr. Hirsch in an e-mail. “Paul brings a wealth of investment knowledge and a broad network throughout the globe, and the timing and fit with him was right.”
Mr. Waller retired as managing partner at 3i Group at the end of 2012. At 3i, he was responsible for fund investor relations and fundraising. 3i's fund investor relations team is now headed by Jennifer Dunstan, partner, in London and Jim Rutherfurd, partner, in New York, according to a spokeswoman who declined to be named.
