Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System, Oklahoma City, named finalists for its two active domestic small-cap equity manager searches, confirmed James Wilbanks, executive director.
The $10.7 billion pension fund interviewed small-cap value finalists Cove Street Capital, Frontier Capital, Huber Capital Management and Neumeier Poma Investment Counsel at its Wednesday board meeting.
At its Feb. 27 meeting, it will interview small-cap growth finalists Geneva Capital Management, Wasatch Advisors and Ranger Investment Management.
Hiring decisions for both searches are expected at the February meeting, Mr. Wilbanks said in a telephone interview.
The pension fund released RFPs in September for small-cap growth, value and core managers to run a combined $500 million. The board later dropped the core manager search, Mr. Wilbanks said.
The number of managers hired and the total assets to be allocated have not been determined yet, Mr. Wilbanks added.
Separately, the pension fund returned 14.7% for the year ended Dec. 31.
