Shelly Heier was named president and chief operating officer at investment consultant Wurts & Associates, confirmed spokeswoman Shevaun Brown.
Ms. Heier, based in Seattle, takes over the president title from Jeffrey MacLean, who will retain the title of CEO.
The COO title is new, according to Ms. Brown.
Ms. Heier was previously executive vice president and senior consultant; she will continue in her management responsibilities over the Seattle office. Scott Whalen, executive vice president and senior consultant in the firm's Los Angeles office, will take over executive leadership of all the firm's consulting functions.
