William H. Williams, founder, CEO and chief investment officer of STW Fixed Income Management, will become chief investment strategist of U.S. fixed income at Schroders, confirmed Karl Dasher, global head of fixed income at Schroders.
It is a new position.
Mr. Williams founded STW in 1985 and was the sole owner of the firm.
Schroders on Monday announced its acquisition of STW, which will become part of Schroder Investment Management North America following the completion of the acquisition, expected in the first quarter of 2013.
STW investment teams will remain intact and will relocate to New York, likely in September, Mr. Dasher said in a telephone interview. Mr. Williams will relocate with the investment teams and is committed to remaining at Schroders for at least two years before retiring, Mr. Dasher said.
Mr. Dasher said the acquisition of STW brings their North American-based assets under management to about $36 billion, from $24 billion. Schroders' global fixed-income assets under management total about $81 billion.
