Bo Kratz was named managing director, Asia-Pacific region, at Northern Trust Global Investments, confirmed spokesman John O'Connell.
Mr. Kratz replaces Kevin Hardy, who joined BlackRock earlier this year as managing director and head of the index equity group in Asia-Pacific, confirmed Brian Beades, BlackRock spokesman.
At Northern Trust, Mr. Kratz will be based in Hong Kong and lead a team managing about $50 billion in assets for clients including sovereign wealth funds, government entities, pension plans and corporations in the region, according to a news release. Mr. Kratz will report to Wayne Bowers, CEO for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, and Teresa Parker, CEO for the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Kratz was managing director, Asia, at Permal Asset Management; he left the firm in mid-2011.
