Cedars-Sinai Medical Center will name a new surgical center in its Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion after PIMCO founder William H. Gross and his wife, Sue.
The announcement on Nov. 14 comes as a result of a $20 million gift toward the building, scheduled to open next summer, by the $341 million Gross Family Foundation, Albany, N.Y.
“We wanted to make a gift to support a worthy Los Angeles-based health-care institution. Cedars-Sinai's mission resonated with us,” said Ms. Gross, president of the foundation, in a news release.
The Sue and Bill Gross Surgery and Procedure Center will take up the fifth floor of the new 11-story pavilion. The 50,000-square-foot center will provide outpatient surgical procedures and will connect to the main medical center via the Sue and Bill Gross Skywalk bridge.
