Robert Doll was named chief equity strategist and senior portfolio manager at Nuveen Asset Management, confirmed spokeswoman Kristyna Munoz.
It is a new position.
Mr. Doll’s hiring is effective Monday; he reports to David Chalupnik, managing director and head of equities.
Mr. Doll was senior managing director and chief equity strategist at BlackRock. He announced his retirement from the firm in June.
Russ Koesterich, global investment strategist for BlackRock’s iShares business, was named chief investment strategist at the firm on Nov. 19. It is a new position, part of which will include Mr. Doll’s chief equity strategist responsibilities, according to BlackRock spokeswoman Bobbie Collins. Mr. Doll’s previous position will not be filled.
