Nebraska Public Employees Retirement Systems, Lincoln, is searching for an actuarial consultant, according to an RFP posted on the pension fund's website.
A three-year contract with an option to renew for an additional three years is scheduled to begin on July 1.
The RFP is available from the state's website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. CST on Jan. 4. Finalist presentations are scheduled for between Jan. 18 and Jan. 24, with a decision scheduled for Feb. 28.
The current actuarial consultant is Buck Consultants. Information on whether the firm can rebid could not be learned by press time.
The retirement systems had combined assets of $9.6 billion as of June 30. The Nebraska School Employees' Retirement System, Judges' Retirement System, State Patrol Retirement System, all defined benefit pension plans, are under Nebraska PERS, as are the State Employees Retirement System and County Employees Retirement System, both cash balance/defined contribution plans, and the Deferred Compensation Plan.
