The Investor Responsibility Research Center Institute is seeking submissions for its competition for the best research on the interaction of the real economy with investment theory.
Academics and practitioners worldwide are eligible to submit papers, which must be either unpublished or published after Jan. 1. The institute plans to award one prize to an academic and one to a practitioner, according to a statement. Each prize is $10,000.
Papers are due Nov. 30 at www.irrcinstitute.org/award.php?page=application.
The panel that will select the winning papers consists of Mark J.P. Anson, managing partner and chief investment officer, Oak Hill Investment Management; Robert Arnott, chairman, Research Affiliates; Collette Chilton, CIO, Williams College; James Hawley, professor in the graduate business programs, School of Economics and Business Administration and director of the Elfenworks Center for Fiduciary Capitalism, Saint Mary's College; and Bill Miller, chairman, Legg Mason Capital Management.
The institute expects to announce the winners in January or February.
