Christopher DeRose was named CEO of the $7 billion Michigan Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, confirmed spokeswoman Lisa Bond Brewer.
Mr. DeRose, who begins Oct. 29, replaces Anne Wagner, who retired on July 1. Debra Peake, officer of employee and retiree services, has been serving as interim CEO.
Mr. DeRose was vice president for client experience at OptumInsight, a health-care information technology and services firm.
Before that, Mr. DeRose was executive director of the $76.4 billion Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, leaving that pension fund in February 2011.
