Maureen Fitzgerald will join Pyramis Global Advisors as head of North American institutional distribution and Colin Fitzgerald will join the firm as head of international institutional distribution.
Both positions are new, said Alexi Maravel, a Pyramis spokesman, in a telephone interview.
The hirings of Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Fitzgerald, who are not related, reflect a restructuring of the distribution organization of Pyramis, Fidelity Investment's institutional asset management arm, by Michael A. Jones, who joined Pyramis as president, CEO and chairman in March, Mr. Maravel said. That restructuring is aimed at emphasizing global distribution, Mr. Maravel said.
Mr. Fitzgerald will join Pyramis in October, and Ms. Fitzgerald will join in November, Mr. Maravel said.
In addition, Michael Barnett, who previously served as executive vice president of institutional sales at Pyramis has been named head of Canadian institutional sales and service.
Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Fitzgerald will report to Mr. Jones; Mr. Barnett will report to Ms. Fitzgerald and Robert Strickland, president of Fidelity Investments Canada.
Ms. Fitzgerald was co-head of State Street Global Advisors' institutional client group for North America.
In a statement, SSgA spokeswoman Alicia Curran Sweeney said Kristi Mitchem, who served as the other co-head of that group, will become sole head of the group.
Mr. Fitzgerald was global head of key accounts and consultants at Robeco Group, according to a Pyramis news release. A Robeco spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
