Bloomington, Ill., is searching for an actuarial firm for its fire and police pension plans.
Tepfer Consulting Group currently provides actuarial services for the $47.5 million Bloomington Police Pension Fund and $38.3 million Bloomington Firefighters' Pension Fund.
“The City of Bloomington is seeking proposals for a long-term agreement with a qualified actuarial firm to provide a variety of impact studies, evaluate existing plan valuations, develop projections and recommendations, and to provide other actuarial services as needed,” according to the RFP.
The selected actuary also would evaluate the city's contributions to the $25.5 billion Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, Oak Brook, which covers other city employees.
The RFP is available on the city's website at www.cityblm.org/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=4119. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. CDT Aug. 24. A hiring decision is anticipated on Sept. 10.
Tim Ervin, performance auditor and budget officer, did not return a telephone call by press time for additional information.
