Maryland State Retirement & Pension System, Baltimore, is seeking information on providers of risk consulting services and portfolio analytics software, according to an RFI the $36.3 billion pension fund issued Tuesday.
One provider could provide both services, or there could be two or three different providers, spokesman Michael Golden said in an interview. “We're casting the net to see what's out there. We want to see what we can get,” he said.
The RFI stresses that the pension fund “is not seeking to develop customized portfolio analytics software.”
Both services have been provided by Wilshire Consulting since 2008; its latest contract expired March 2011, and has been extended monthly since then. Wilshire is eligible to rebid. Calls to Wilshire were not returned at press time.
The RFI is available at http://sra.state.md.us/Agency/Investment/Resources/ManagerOpportunities.aspx.
Proposals are due Sept. 7, with a five-year contract or contracts beginning Nov. 1. The contract or contracts include options for two, one-year renewals.
