Joe Russo, retired managing director in the equity capital markets group of real estate development and management firm Tishman Speyer, died July 31 after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Russo was 65.
He joined Tishman Speyer in March 2007 and retired later that year. Before that, Mr. Russo was a managing principal at real estate investment management Westbrook Partners. In 1999, Mr. Russo took an early retirement from AT&T Co., Berkeley Heights, N.J. where he oversaw investment management of AT&T Pension Plan’s $4.5 billion real estate portfolio.
“We were saddened to hear about Joe’s passing,” said Tishman Speyer Co-CEOs Jerry and Rob Speyer, in a written statement for Pensions & Investments. “In addition to being a consummate professional, he was a great guy to have around due to his terrific personality. We know he will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.”
