Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Topeka, will search for a domestic REIT manager, said spokeswoman Kristen Basso.
The size of the investment and when the RFP will be issued have not been determined yet. The RFP will be posted on the $12.7 billion retirement system's website.
Funding will come from the system's existing $80.4 million REIT portfolio. Current REIT managers Brookfield Investment Management, Principal Global Investors and Duff & Phelps can bid on the RFP, Ms. Basso said.
A hiring decision is expected in about six months.
