Cynthia A. Thomas was named executive director of the $3.4 billion Detroit Police and Fire Retirement System and $2.4 billion Detroit General Retirement System, the pension funds announced Friday on their website.
Ms. Thomas replaces Walter Stampor, who on Friday announced his retirement from the pension funds after 44 years.
Ms. Thomas was assistant executive director of the police and fire system. David Cetlinski, former manager of the police and fire system, will replace Ms. Thomas.
