Andrew G. Arnott was named president and CEO of John Hancock Funds, confirmed Keith F. Hartstein, current president and CEO.
Mr. Hartstein has led the fund complex since 2005. He will retire in September.
Mr. Arnott was executive vice president of John Hancock Investment Management Services, where he oversaw third-party and internal asset manager relationships for John Hancock’s investment platform and that of parent company Manulife in the U.S. and Asia.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Hartstein said Leo Zerilli, a vice president who has been Mr. Arnott’s right-hand man at John Hancock Investment Management Services, will succeed him in overseeing IMS.
