Lynne Ford was named executive vice president and head of distribution at Calvert Investments.
The position is new. Ms. Ford started July 2, she confirmed in a telephone interview.
Ms. Ford will help expand the sustainable and responsible investing firm's institutional and retail businesses and will be a member of Calvert's management committee. She will report to Barbara J. Krumsiek, chairman, president and CEO.
Ms. Ford said there is growing interest in sustainable investing on both the institutional and retail side and she will be working on identifying new relationships, channels and platforms to expand Calvert's business.
“On the institutional side, given the financial crisis … many institutions are starting to incorporate ESG criteria,” she said. “The (socially responsible investment) space provides a springboard for rebuilding and redefining investing.”
Ms. Ford most recently was executive vice president and head of ING U.S. Retirement Services' individual markets. She was replaced by Rich Linton, said spokesman Joseph Loparco.
