Illinois Teachers' Retirement System, Springfield, has posted an RFP on its website for an investment consultant for the $37 billion pension fund.
State law requires rebidding of contracts every five years. The new contract begins Jan. 1, 2013, said David Urbanek, a TRS spokesman, in an e-mail.
The incumbent, R.V. Kuhns & Associates, will be invited to rebid, Mr. Urbanek said.
Traditional investment consulting services are being sought, including manager research and selection advice; performance monitoring, measurement and reporting; investment policy development; and asset allocation and portfolio construction assistance.
Proposals are due July 20, with a decision expected at the pension fund's Oct. 24-26 or Dec. 10-11 meeting, according to the RFP.
