Cube Capital on Monday opened its Global Opportunities hedge fund to outside investors, confirmed Meglena Petkova, a spokeswoman.
Cube Capital has been running the event-driven fund for three years with a combined $100 million from its partners, hedge funds of funds and several longstanding family office clients, Ms. Petkova said in an interview.
The Global Opportunities fund invests in long/short equity, debt and derivatives securities strategies focused on dislocated markets and disruptions within sectors and industries.
“We expect global economic instability to continue for the foreseeable future and continue to be a fertile source of dislocation so there will be many opportunities for this contrarian fund and its investors,” said Francois Buclez, Cube Capital's CEO, in a news release.
The fund was opened because the fund has a three-year track record, Ms. Petkova said.Cube Capital will accept other clients for the fund but is targeting institutional investors.
The company manages $1.3 billion with about 20% managed for institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe.
