Brian Portnoy was named managing director and head of alternatives and strategic initiatives at Chicago Equity Partners.
The position is new, said Patrick C. Lynch, president of Chicago Equity Partners.
Mr. Portnoy was a portfolio manager and director of research at Vestian Group, a global workplace services and real estate research firm.
