David Loevinger was named managing director and sovereign analyst in the emerging markets group at TCW Group, confirmed company spokesman Peter Viles.
Mr. Loevinger replaces Jean-Charles Sambor, who left the firm in late 2011, according to Mr. Viles. He had no further information regarding Mr. Sambor's destination.
Mr. Loevinger was senior coordinator for China affairs and the U.S.-China strategic and economic dialogue at the Treasury Department. A spokesman at the Treasury Department could not be reached.
