Gregory W. Smith, interim executive director, COO and general counsel of the $38.3 billion Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, will represent the Council of Institutional Investors on the board of the National Institute on Retirement Security, according to a news release from the pension fund.
Mr. Smith succeeds Jack Ehnes, CEO of the $146.8 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento. Mr. Smith has served on the CII board since 2008.
Colorado PERA spokeswoman Katie Kaufmanis said Mr. Smith was not available for comment by press time.
The NIRS board is responsible for conducting research and education programs that foster a deep understanding of the value of retirement security. CII is a group of pension funds, other employee benefit funds, endowments and foundations that focuses on corporate governance.
