Montana Board of Investments, Helena, posted an RFP for an investment consultant on the state's website.
Incumbent R.V. Kuhns is invited to rebid, confirmed David Ewer, executive director, earlier this year when the board announced it planned to conduct the search. R.V. Kuhns has been the board's consultant since 2005.
The investment board oversees $13.5 billion in pension, trust and other public funds, including $7.9 billion in retirement assets from nine different pension funds. The selected firm will provide general investment consulting services and asset/liability studies for each pension fund as needed.
The RFP is available on the state's website.
Proposals are due July 23. Finalists will be notified around Sept. 10 and make presentations to the full board on Oct. 5. A hiring decision is expected in October or November.
