Plymouth County (Mass.) Retirement Association issued an RFP for an international small-cap equity manager to run $25 million, confirmed William Farmer, executive director of the $660 million retirement system.
The search is to potentially replace Allianz Global Investors because the portfolio manager who runs the money now will be replaced in July, Mr. Farmer said in a telephone interview. Allianz, which manages $25 million in an international small-cap growth portfolio for the association, is invited to rebid. Further information on the portfolio manager couldn't be learned by press time.
Investment consultant Wainwright Investment Counsel is assisting.
The retirement fund has a 16% allocation to international equity. Interested firms can propose an active or passive strategy in any investment style, according to the RFP. Preference will be given to commingled funds, but separate accounts will be considered.
The RFP is available on Wainwright's website. Proposals are due at 2 p.m. EDT July 17. A hiring date has not been determined, Mr. Farmer said.
