Osbert Hood joined Advent Capital Management as COO.
Mr. Hood replaces Edward Johnson, who said in a news release that he decided to leave for “personal and family reasons.” Mr. Johnson will leave after a transition period of a month or so, spokesman Dave Millar wrote in an e-mail.
Mr. Hood, who was chairman and CEO of MacKay Shields through March 2010 and before then was president and CEO of Pioneer Investments USA from 2003 through 2006, has been consulting on a number of investment projects and focusing on family and philanthropic interests, Mr. Millar said.
