Essex Regional Retirement System, Danvers, Mass., issued an RFP for an independent financial auditor, confirmed Charles Kostro, executive director of $270 million pension plan.
The retirement system does not now have an independent auditor and is looking to add transparency through annual audits in addition to audits performed by the state oversight agency every three years, Mr. Kostro said in a telephone interview. The RFP, which is for a three-year contract, is available on the pension fund's website. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. EDT July 27. A hiring decision is expected in August.
The search is being handled internally.
