Christopher Bricker, a senior vice president and head of product development at AllianceBernstein, has taken on the additional role of head of alternatives business strategy, confirmed Jonathan Freedman, a spokesman for AllianceBernstein.
The position is new.
Mr. Bricker, a 20-year veteran at the firm, will “assume overall responsibility for the success and profitability of the firm's $13 billion alternatives platform, which includes multimanager strategies, proprietary hedge funds and closed-end drawdown funds,” according to an AllianceBernstein news release.
Mr. Bricker will retain his previous duties.
Separately, Michael Gaviser, a senior vice president with the firm, has become sole head of alternative sales and client service at AllianceBernstein with the departure of John Akkerman, who had been senior vice president and co-head with Mr. Gaviser, to pursue another opportunity.
Mr. Akkerman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
