Lisa Carrillo was named client portfolio manager at Legal & General Investment Management America with a focus on index distribution in North America, confirmed Ali Toutounchi, managing director, index tracking.
The position is new.
The hire comes as LGIMA launches its first passive investment management strategies in the U.S., adding to the firm's existing capabilities in liability-driven investment and active fixed-income strategies. Mr. Toutounchi said Ms. Carrillo will concentrate on marketing and client servicing with institutional investors, primarily pension funds. The firm's new passive strategies in the U.S. will include fixed income and equity offerings, with a focus on international equity.
Ms. Carrillo reports to Thomas Meyers, senior client portfolio manager and head of distributions, and is based in Los Angeles.
Ms. Carrillo was a director in BlackRock's global client group, where she was responsible for sales and service for large institutional investors. "As a matter of company policy, we do not comment on employee activity," said Brian Beades, BlackRock spokesman.
