San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System committed a total of up to $70 million to three alternatives managers, confirmed Robert Shaw, managing director, public markets, at the $15.6 billion retirement system.
The retirement system's board approved commitments of up to $30 million each to Windjammer Senior Equity Fund IV, a private debt fund managed by Windjammer Capital Investors, and Institutional Venture Partners XIV, a venture capital fund. It also committed up to $10 million to Mayfield XIV, a venture capital fund managed by Mayfield Fund.
The board previously committed $20 million to Windjammer's third fund. It also committed $30 million to the 13th IVP fund and $20 million to its 12th fund. It is the first investment with Mayfield.
Consultant Portfolio Advisors assisted.
Separately, the board selected BlackRock, State Street Global Advisors and Northern Trust for a preapproved list of passive index management services. The retirement system issued an RFQ in January for managers to be used for transition services, Mr. Shaw said.
