Andrew B. Weisman and Soonyong Park joined Janus Capital Group in two senior positions.
Mr. Weisman was named senior vice president, alternative and multiasset class solutions, which effectively makes him the company’s thought leader on asset allocation, confirmed a Janus spokeswoman. Mr. Weisman will assist all client segments at Janus in combining traditional and alternative sources of return.
Mr. Park was named institutional client strategist, with responsibility for leading the firm’s research efforts on institutional pension and strategic asset allocation issues.
Both positions are new.
Mr. Weisman was a partner at WR Platform Advisors, a provider of services for hedge funds, including risk analytics and investor reporting. Officials at WR Platform Advisors couldn’t be reached for comment.
Mr. Park comes to Janus from investment consulting firm Segal Rogerscasey, where he served as practice leader for global portfolio solutions and co-head of research.
Mary Feldman, a spokeswoman for Segal Rogerscasey, said Mr. Park won’t be replaced in those positions, which have been eliminated in a reorganization following Segal Advisors’ February acquisition of Rogerscasey. That reorganization resulted in greater integration between research and consulting under Chief Investment Officer Timothy Barron, Ms. Feldman said.
