REITs continue to run

REITs continued to climb in April - the FTSE NAREIT Mortgage index returned 3.5% during the month and the FTSE NAREIT Equity index had gains of 2.7% - even as overall equity markets pulled back. Equity REITs are up more than 14% year to date, while mortgage REITs have posted returns of nearly 13%.
