Kevin Cress has joined NEPC in San Francisco as a senior consultant with the investment consulting firm's defined contribution group.
The position is new.
According to an NEPC news release, Mr. Cress most recently was a senior consultant with Hewitt EnnisKnupp. Maurissa Kanter, a spokeswoman for Hewitt EnnisKnupp, couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
The news release said NEPC also hired Raymond Dame, likewise as a senior consultant with the company's defined contribution group. Mr. Dame will be based in Cambridge, Mass.
Mr. Dame replaces Kristen Colvin, who left her position as an investment consultant at NEPC to join MFS Investment Management in November, as a director of consultant relations.
Mr. Dame comes to NEPC from ING, where he served as a vice president and investment specialist.
Annette Bronkesh, a spokeswoman for ING, couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
The additions of Messrs. Cress and Dame bring to eight the number of partners and senior consultants on NEPC's dedicated DC team, said Christine Loughlin, the NEPC partner who leads that team, in a telephone interview.
In the same interview, Mike Manning, NEPC's managing partner, said his firm's DC-related business is enjoying strong momentum, with more than 100 clients, with combined DC assets of more than $100 billion. Mr. Manning said NEPC is seeing growing demand from clients seeking customized target-date funds.
