Jay Huish was named executive director of the San Francisco City & County Employees' Retirement System, according to a news release from the $15.5 billion pension system.
Mr. Huish replaces Gary Amelio who left in January to become CEO of the $1.9 billion Santa Barbara County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement System.
Mr. Huish, the San Francisco pension system's deputy director of operations, had been serving as interim executive director. Mr. Huish was named to the top spot April 25 at a special meeting of the pension system.
Mr. Huish will continue in his operations role until a replacement is named.
Norm Nickens, spokesman for the retirement system, was out of the office and unavailable for comment.
