You can add the initials CCTF to the well-stocked list of acronyms — PSCA, DCIIA, ABC, EBRI, ASPPA, ICI — of organizations trying to educate and influence the retirement industry.
The Coalition of Collective Trust Funds was created this month. Kevin Lyman, assistant general counsel at Invesco Advisers Inc., Atlanta, will serve as chairman through 2013.
“We want to be a forum for best practices,” Mr. Lyman said in an interview. “We will be an information resource for issues of common interest.” The trade organization will keep members aware of regulatory and compliance matters from the Department of Labor and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The CCTF isn't a lobbying organization, although Mr. Lyman added that “ultimately, we'd like to have a voice in regulatory issues.” His group will “occasionally submit public comment on issues of importance to members.”
His organization has 16 member companies so far.
