David R. Maki joined global real estate investment firm Heitman as senior vice president, North American capital markets, confirmed spokeswoman Margot Olcay in an e-mail.
It is a new position.
Mr. Maki will manage the firm's North American debt financings for new acquisitions and existing portfolio of apartments, hotels, industrial, land, office, self-storage, senior housing, student housing and retail assets.
Mr. Maki was head of North American Capital Markets at Deutsche Asset Management's RREEF Alternative Investments. Parent Deutsche Bank announced in February that it is in exclusive negotiations with Guggenheim Partners to sell its RREEF alternatives arm and two other subsidiaries.
