Farouki A. Majeed was named director of investments at the $10.5 billion Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, confirmed spokesman Tim Barbour.
Mr. Majeed is senior investment officer, asset allocation and risk management, at the $235.2 billion California Public Employees’ Retirement System, Sacramento.
Mr. Majeed will join the Ohio retirement system on July 2, according to the statement. He replaces Robert Cowman, who is retiring effective April 30. Steve Price, senior investment officer in global private equity, will serve as interim director of investments.
CalPERS spokesman Brad Pacheco said CalPERS will conduct a search; he could not comment further.
