Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, Winooski, Vt., is searching for a consultant to evaluate and consolidate the organization's four defined contribution retirement plans, confirmed Forest Cohen, business manager.
The Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization merged with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Organization in July; each organization administered their own 401(a) and 457 plans.
The four plans have about $1 million in total assets.
The commission is searching for a consultant to consolidate all four into either one retirement plan or one set of 401(a) and 457 plans and to transition employees into the newly formed plan or plans, Mr. Cohen said in a telephone interview.
Mr. Cohen said there could be another RFP issued later for management of the plans. Currently, John Hancock Financial Services and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney manage the plans' assets.
The RFP is available on the Vermont procurement website. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. EDT May 4. A hiring date was not specified.
